What is BPC-157?
BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide of 15 amino acids. This guide answers what is BPC-157 from the facts that identify it: what it is made of, where its sequence comes from, its molecular formula, molar mass and CAS number, and which R3vive pens contain it.
What BPC-157 is made of
BPC-157 is a chain of 15 amino acids, a pentadecapeptide. Its sequence, written in one-letter codes, is:
GEPPPGKPADDAGLV
In three-letter codes that is Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val. Four of the fifteen residues are proline and three are glycine; the chain starts with glycine and ends with valine.
| Amino acid | One-letter code | Count |
|---|---|---|
| Proline | P | 4 |
| Glycine | G | 3 |
| Alanine | A | 2 |
| Aspartic acid | D | 2 |
| Glutamic acid | E | 1 |
| Lysine | K | 1 |
| Leucine | L | 1 |
| Valine | V | 1 |
| Total | 15 |

Where the sequence comes from
The name stands for Body Protection Compound 157. The sequence is a partial sequence of a larger protein that researchers at the University of Zagreb isolated from human gastric juice; papers from the Sikirić group there describe it from 1993. BPC-157 itself is made by peptide synthesis, not extracted. In the literature it also appears under the development codes PL 14736 and PL-10, and as Bepecin.

Acetate, arginate and other salt forms
Synthetic peptides are usually supplied as a salt: the chain carries a counter-ion left from synthesis and purification, most often acetate or trifluoroacetate. Some suppliers list an arginate form of BPC-157. In each case the 15-amino-acid chain and its sequence are the same; only the counter-ion differs, so a salt's molar mass is higher than the chain's 1,419.5 g/mol. A label that gives a total in mg gives the amount of the product as supplied.
BPC-157 in R3vive pens
BPC-157 is sold on its own as a pre-filled 3 ml pen, and it is a component of four blends.
| Pen | BPC-157 | Total | Concentration | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BPC-157 | 20mg | 20mg | 6.7 mg/ml | £85.00 |
| WOLVERINE | 10mg | 20mg | 6.7 mg/ml | £76.00 |
| GLOW | 10mg | 70mg | 23.3 mg/ml | £80.00 |
| KLOW | 10mg | 80mg | 26.7 mg/ml | £88.00 |
The fourth blend is the BPC-157 + TB-500 + KPV blend, 30mg in total. Each box holds 1 pre-filled pen and 4 pen needle tips, and every pen's storage line is "Store at 2–8°C". Our GLOW vs KLOW vs WOLVERINE guide sets the three named blends side by side.
How BPC-157 is identified in a test report
Two numbers identify a peptide in a test report. HPLC purity is the share of the sample that is the target peptide. Mass spectrometry confirms the mass, which for BPC-157 should match the chain's 1,419.5 g/mol (or the salt form named).
Our lab reports page lists the independent reports we hold and how to check each one with the lab.
